How to Set Up the Oculus Quest 2

What’s in the Oculus Quest 2 Box?

You can remove the foam part of the headset made for your comfort. If the glasses are worn take out the foam and keep the glass space inside and replace the foam.

The thing is some users have got itching because of the foam, now Oculus has provided a silicone cover in the box. Remove the cover of the foam if you use it.

Putting On and Adjusting the Quest 2 Headset

To turn on the headset, hold the power button located on the right side for some seconds. Pull back the strap and place it over the heads and check how it fits with you.

To do the adjustments, remove the headset, next use both sliders on the back side of the strap, and adjust it as fitting tightly. Take the sliders to the center strap to make it loosen, or to the out of the headset to tighten it.

After it is fit for you, put back the headset. Now if you need to remove the Velcro from the strap and adjust it for making fit on the top.

When the headset is on, there will be an initial setup menu. This will take you through the controllers and connect to the Wi-Fi network followed by a small information video.

If the screen seems to be blurred, remove the headset and put the lenses away or near to check if it improves the lucidity. You can do smaller changes to the headset when you are wearing it but you have to check whether it is too high or low.

After doing that, Quest 2 will need to install the latest software update. At this moment, take off the headset you need and plug it into the charger. The USB –C port is located on the left and also there is a headphone jack there. The Quest 2 is made inside the speakers, but you have the possibility to connect the headphones to get a louder sound.

Install and Configure the Oculus App

Now all the things are ready to connect the Oculus headset with the app. There will be a list and you have to select the relevant model. Next, the app will automatically recognize you. Finally put back the headset and finish the setup.

Configuring Oculus Guardian

The final part of the set up the Oculus Quest 2 is making the guardian.  With the safety feature, you can make a border to mark the space needed to go around. If you go against your area or go passing it Oculus will notify you of it.

It is very essential if you are playing in a room-scale mode, and not essential if it is a stationary mode. Oculus suggests spaces that are at least 6.5 feet by 6.5 feet room scale.
